13:00 ~ 14:00 | How to survive in... Italia! By Francesca Bormolini Conferencia Plenaria
Francesca Bormolini comes from Livigno on the Italian Alps. She is a language educator with five years of experience in the field. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Trieste in Italy. Following her undergraduate studies, she took a gap year, during which she worked as a French teacher at Tecnologico de Mexico in Celaya. After that she obtained her Master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology from the University of Bologna in Italy. Currently she works as a French teacher at ITC Celaya and as an online Italian tutor.

At her current job as an educational sales consultant Mrs. Bohorquez has had the opportunity to mentor teachers and coach schools into their transition to become bilingual as well as to support their teachers with best practices .
In the realm of education, the terms "assessment" and "evaluation" are often used interchangeably, yet they encompass distinct processes that play critical roles in shaping teaching and learning practices. Through a reflective journey, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental differences between assessment and evaluation, as well as their complementary roles in the educational landscape. We will examine assessment as the ongoing process of gathering evidence of student learning, encompassing a rich array of methods and tools designed to measure progress, identify strengths, and pinpoint areas for growth.

17:10 ~ 17:50 | Dare to innovate your teaching practice by Bertha Sámano Orozco Conferencia
Bertha Sámano Orozco has worked as an English teacher for more than 20 years. She works for Educa Libros y Textos as an academic consultant. She holds a Master’s of Education and a BA in ELT. She believes a good teacher plus a great coursebook is a fantastic combination.
Why innovating our teaching practice?
Falling into routines when teaching is an easy thing to do; especially when we are pleased with the results we are getting. But what if I did something different to get better results? By using the “action research approach” as a guide, this presentation will show you some ideas of what and how can we innovate our teaching practice. There are possibilities to improve what we are already doing well, and the results will benefit both, the teachers and the learners.
This presentation is suitable for all levels.

Pronunciation in English can be terrifying. But there are easy strategies that would help you to improve your pronunciation up to a point where you can communicate effectively without being overwhelmed by the idea of doing it right or wrong. In this masterclass, you will check the twelve sounds for vowels in English and build your confidence to improve your speaking skills from the foundation.
